Our journey started in November 2004 with the goal of exploring this great country for three years and then settling down again. In the fall of 2006 Scenic Route magazine wrote a story about our CoolJourney. You can read the magazine article here.
In November 2007 we reached the end of our initial three year journey. Anticipating this approaching milestone, in March 2007 we began to review our lifestyle again. At that time we decided to continue fulltiming for at least 3 more years. To celebrate, we upgraded our home to a 2007 Monaco Diplomat 40 PDQ motorhome.
We are now entering a new chapter in our lives. In October 2009 we purchased a home in a Del Webb Sun City development in Florence, AZ. We will become "Sun Birds" and will travel in the summer and stay in Florence in the winter. This will give us the opportunity to establish a community of friends we will visit each year and will fill a void that has been growing over the past five years. The CoolJourney website will continue to be available, but after October 2010 updates in the winter will be few.
