The campsite looks great. They tell us the snowfall is very light. This was a good choice.
Not too many people here, and a casino/restaurant nearby.
Not a bad view from the back of our rig.
Got the satellite dish setup for Internet access and TV reception. Life is sweet.
Hmmm... Apparently it gets cold here. No problem, a little scraping and we are good to go.
Well if it is cold, then just plug in the truck to warm it up!
Unfortunately, the water froze too. No problem. Heat tape and insulation solved that!
And then the snow came... Pretty, but it played havoc with our Internet reception.
HA! Look at all of the snow in our neighbors sites. Poor people they will be digging out all day!
Looks like I spoke too soon. We have a little snow to clear too.
Oh yeah we've got snow. Great, now I've have to get on the roof.
Ok "Shovel-Boy" dig a path to the ladder.
Uhhhh, are we having fun yet? I don't think so.
Excuse me, but I didn't sign up for sweeping snow off of the truck.
Now there's a good idea. Chill the New Year's champagne. Too bad I was too tired to stay up!
No more shoveling. Lets go skiing!! My sweetie is ready to hit the slopes.
This is the lift at the top of the mountain at Northstar Ski Resort.
Its all downhill from here. See the low clouds over the Martis Valley below.
This run is appropriately named "The Plunge".
Lake Tahoe can be seen between the trees from this run.
More snow the night of 1/8/05 and again I have to dig a path to the dish to clear it off.
Last night we had high winds and drifting snow... right into the bed of the truck.
The drifts left about 3 feet of snow in my freshly dug driveway. Keep digging!!
However, that snow made for some good skiing!
Ok, lets review. Here is the picnic table at our site when we arrived.
This is the table after our first snowfall. We were really surprised at the amount of snow.
The next morning we were REALLY surprised by the amount of new snow.
Now this is starting to become depressing. That big lump is our picnic table.
This picture was taken on Jan. 12th and shows why skiing can be beautiful and fun at the same time.
Here is a great picture of Squaw Valley from the chairlift at Northstar.
Ok, ok, we know pictures of us on the slopes may be boring, but this is what we did
Good thing Bill's arms are long or this would be a closeup of our noses!!
Our friend Claire came up to ski with us. Aren't they both cute!
Here is Susan resting after a vigorous day of skiing. You can see she had a good day!
Another after skiing picture. We met an interesting fellow who offered to take our picture.
Bootie Boot Camp. Of course after skiing we have to make sure our boot liners are dry.
Verdi, NV
Of course, we did more than ski. Here is a nice view of the Truckee River.
The river pic to the left and this one of a barn were within walking distance of our campsite.
We went to Squaw Valley and took a few pictures of the village. Here is a hotel.
Metal sculpture representing a skier from the distant past.
Another metal sculpture. This one represents an elk.
And here is a picture of another beautiful sight at Squaw Valley.
Back at the ranch, here is the lovey Susan cooking up another feast.
Of course, in this hectic lifestyle there has to be some downtime for surfing!

And the morning would not be complete without the daily regimen of pilates.

An attractive picture of the mountains as seen from our campsite.
The same view of these mountains with a blanket of snow.
