Banff and Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada
Susan's recurring medical issues required a visit to the local hospital. Nice setting!
Mt. Rundle is beautiful when the sun comes out.  This was near our campground.
Susan sits on a bridge with Banff and Mt. Rundle in the background.
Here is the Bow River as it flows through Banff.
We took a walk along a path in Banff and saw these pretty flowers. Do you know what they are? Lupines?
Bill and Susan with the historic Fairmont  Banff Spings Hotel in the background.
We took a trip to Lake Minnewanka which is not too far from Banff.
There were Hoodoos near our campground in Banff with a nice view of the Bow river below.
Rain and clouds did not stop us from hiking to Johnston Upper and Lower Falls.
There were a number of falls along the way.
Some wildlife came out to greet us.
Another impressive set of falls.
We get a sunny day for a hike!!  This is the ski lodge where the Healy Pass hike begins.
WOW!  It was a steep hike to get here, but the wildflowers were incredible.
Another great view of the wildflowers.
Everywhere you looked were awesome mtns. and wildflowers.
We were being watched too! This was a distant shot of some elk monitoring our progress.
Glorious view of mountains and a nearby lake.
In the center of the picture is a lake (and one below it) fed by glaciers.
At the end of the hike for us the trail continues on.
We had a beautiful, wooded campsite at Lake Louise. The train horns serenaded us at night (ugh!).
This is Chateau Lake Louise. It is a beautiful hotel on the shore of Lake Louise (duh!).
The inside of the hotel reeked of old time luxury.
The view from the hotel windows grabbed you each time you walked by one.
This picture is from the lake side of the hotel,
A nice flat trail takes you to the end of the lake where it begins a steep ascent.
This is looking back at the hotel from the end of Lake Louise.
Susan takes a much deserved rest after hiking 1300 feet above the lake.
Bill rests before venturing up a very narrow trail to the highest point. Susan did not follow.
From the highest point of the hike you see a glacier flowing down the mountain.
On later day we drove to Takakkaw Falls in Yoho Nat'l Park.
Also in Yoho Nat'l Park is Emerald Lake. As you can see it was quite a jewel.
