Jasper, Alberta, Canada
Whistler Campground in Jasper was the best campground at which we stayed.
Although we didn't see too much wildlife in Canada, some elk did come by to feed near our trailer.
The Mom's of the baby elk were nearby. Do they have eyes in the back of their...
Near Jasper is Lake Annette. There is a short 2-3 mile hike around the lake.
We took a cruise on the beautiful Maligne Lake.
The highlight of the cruise was Spirit Island. Fabulous view.
On another day we took a trip to see Tangle Falls.
As we drove along the Icefield Parkway there were many views of the mountains.
This is the Athabasca River shortly before the Athabasca Falls.
The Athabasca Falls were very interesting and loud!
There were short trails in and around the falls. What kind of a pose is that Susan?
The power of water is awesome as it carves gorges in its path.
We took a tour of the Columbia Glacier. This is the vehicle used to transport people to the glacier.
The very first tours of the glacier were on these less comfortable vehicles.
There was a very steep descent to the glacier. In the middle of the pic another vehicle is returning.
This view looks to the top of the glacier. The ice is 1000 ft. deep here.
This glacier was once joined to the larger Columbia Icefield.
This is a glacial hole formed by melting ice. The ice melt flows under the ice.
This is the Angel Glacier nearby the Columbia Glacier.
Back in Jasper we took the tram up Whistler mountain. The town of Jasper is below.
We hiked straight up (or so it seemed!) 600 ft. to see these views of the surrounding mountains.
The panorama of mountains was inspiring.
What can one say, but wow!
At the top Bill ducks out of the wind to make some camera adjustments.
