Memphis, TN
Our campsite near Memphis was heavily wooded. Heat, humidity and hungry bugs were the order of the day.
The satellite dish was aimed through this small hole in the trees.  It was quite a challenge to get online.
The Memphis Visitor's Center was quite nice and the folks were helpful.  This is a statute of BB King.
Of course, they had a statute of Elvis in the Visitor's Center too.
One of the first orders of business was to take this trolley through downtown Memphis. Fun!
A panorama of downtown Memphis.
The landmark pyramid in Memphis was once a stadium and now it is an event center.
The downtown buildings were interesting and flashy.
Many Beale St. patrons follow the specific directions on this neon sign.
It is amazing what artists can do with a plain brick wall.
Beale Street in the early evening comes alive with neon.
A nice picture of the I40 bridge between Memphis in TN and West Memphis in AR.
You can just see Graceland peeking out between the trees. We were too cheap to pay $20/ea. to tour it.
A long rock wall in front of the mansion was adorned with graffiti from adoring fans.
Two of Elvis' jets were in residence.  This is the "Lisa Marie".
If you go to Memphis you must tour the Rock 'n Soul museum.  It was informative and a lot of fun.
This tram takes you to Mud Island next to the downtown area.
Looking south on Mud Island.
This is a small section of a 1/2 mile replica of the Mississippi River.  Interesting and a lot of fun for the kids.
The "watersheds" feeding the Mississippi are depicted by these walls.
