Riverside Resort RV Park. A nice resort with a neon "Jesus" sign on the office building.
Gatlinburg was a real treat. So was Pigeon Forge. After the 1st trip thru we avoided them like the plague.
Ahhh... now this is what it is all about. The fall colors are not yet prime, but are still very nice.
Of course we took a hike to a point with a view. Nice!

Everywhere you drive in the Great Smoky Mtns Nat'l Park seems like a picture for a calendar.
We take a trip to Knoxville. Susan is happy to be at the marketplace.
The marketplace is historic, but not too extensive.
The locals come out for a dance in the good weather. They look like they are having fun.
This building is in the "old town" part of Knoxville.
An interesting statute. Things are slow going for this rower.
A little excursion train and the Tennessee River are popular visitor attractions.

We took a trip to Jonesborough, TN to enjoy a storyteller performance here.
As the oldest town in Tennessee, Jonesborough is nicely restored and fun to walk through.
Colors and fall decorations are everywhere.
Susan relaxes in the butterfly chair. She wanted to order one for the trailer.
Mail Pouch tobacco seemed to be popular here.
This log cabin was built in 1777 and President Andrew Jackson lived here in 1788 while practicing law.
On our way to Asheville, NC we were dazzled by fall colors.
At a rest stop along the way we grabbed a picture of the fall colors that were everywhere.
Our destination in Asheville was the Biltmore Estates. This is the 4 acre shack we toured.
Nice pools and statues.
Gardens and flowers to delight the eye.
I would need a riding lawnmower for this place.
Beautiful views. You can just see the horse riders going over the grassy knoll.

Wow. These trees are so vibrant it makes your eyes water just to look at them!
Another day, another hike. This time to some nice falls.

Best Holiday Trav-L Park was a nice place for our four day stay.
Our first tour of the area was the Chickamauga Battlefield.
These Civil War battlefields were deadly. Many memorials stand to honor the fallen.
Everywhere you go in this park are reminders of the people who fought and died here.
This was one of the most prominent monuments and was for one of the famous leaders.
It is eerie to stand where so many died to preserve the Union or state's rights or end slavery or...
On a lighter note and brighter day we took a trip to downtown Chattanooga.
The Tennessee River is beautiful as it flows past the city.
We took a 18 mile bike ride along the river. Very scenic.
Hunter Museum of American Art at Arts Bluffs in the downtown area.
After the bike ride we went to Lookout Mountain.
The view from here was outstanding and we were lucky to have clear skies.
