Upon arriving in Ishpeming a bike ride at Lake Superior was in order.

Doors, doors, doors and doors of the Doors.
The town of Marquette where we rode our bikes was an attractive place.
Our park just outside of Mackinaw City packs 'em in tight. But just down the street was Lake Huron.
Mere feet from our door was this lovely sight of the Mackinaw Bridge (otherwise known as the Mighty Mac).
Old Mackinac Point Light Station operated from 1889 until 1957.
Sault "Soo" Sainte Marie is where the Soo Locks are located.
This is a picture of a picture. It is a good overview of the locks as they are currently.
For $20 bucks a head you can travel through the locks. We stayed on land.
The ships come in to the locks.
And they go out. This is the Alpena heading for points west.
Here is another ship passing eastward through the locks.
Our trip to Mackinac Island started with a ride on the ferry.
We had great weather and it provided a nice view of the Mackinaw Bridge.
Mackinaw Island is a great place to bike - absolutely no exhaust fumes.
No motorized vehicles are allowed so ride a carriage, bike or walk if you want to get around.
The island is chock full of picturesque homes and churches.
Nice homes here and note the horse drawn luggage carrier.
Susan says that when she wins the lottery she will buy this summer cottage. (Gotta buy a ticket first, Susan).
Arch Rock is a natural limestone formation that rivals the size of the biggest ones we saw in Utah.
Should the need arise the island is ready to defend itself. Careful you Canadians.
The ferry boats run constantly. Here you can see three taking off past the lighthouses.
The Round Island Lighthouse built in 1845 guides vessels through the straits.
