Rhinebeck, NY
We stayed at Interlake RV Park. After a harrowing trip here we arrived safely at 9 PM.
First order of business was to visit the Franklin D. Roosevelt library and home. This is the visitor center.
This is a nice picture of the President and his wife Eleanor.
We decided to sit and have a chat with the couple outside the visitor's center. They didn't say much.
We visited their home, "Springwood" first. At this distance it looks nice, but up close the paint is peeling.
Photos of guests such as King George VI & Queen Elizabeth in 1939 are displayed on the piano in the Dresden room.

The Vanderbilt Mansion is a monument to the opulence of the Gilded Age.
The backside of the mansion affords stunning views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains.
Here are those stunning views.
Of course, just across the Hudson River is another mansion. Lots of oneupsmanship in those days.
There was a nice little pool and garden too.
An attractive room to entertain the guests.
The study is replete with dead animal heads and guns.
Mrs. Vanderbilt was particularly fond of this Rococo Parlour.
Bard College - Chevy Chase's alma mater.
The Italian Gardens at Bard College offer a view of the Hudson River Valley.

This section of the Appalachian Trail took us by a peaceful mountain lake.
As always, Susan is pleased to be out in nature - sweating.
