Lake Havasu City, AZ
Upon arriving in the Lake Havasu City area we found a boondocking site south of town.
The evening show was spectacular.
What an interesting picture with the moon casting an eerie light on the desert.
Due to impending winds we moved to Lake Havasu SP. We had a wonderful large site overlooking the lake.
Each evening the near full moon treated us to a new show.
We got our kayak out for a paddling trip under the London Bridge.
We paddled down a canal separating the island Pittsburg Point from the mainland.
The canal and surrounding area had replicas of famous lighthouses. This is West Quoddy lighthouse.
I am not sure which lighthouse this one represents, but it was a nice picture anyway.
The London Bridge as pretty at night too.
This is the official "coat of arms" for the London Bridge.
Susan had one of those "zero" year birthdays. They say it is the new "40". She looks great!!
This is our campsite at La Paz County Park near Parker, AZ. We were right next to the water.
This is a view down river from our site. Parker is know for being the "west coast" of Arizona.
We drove to California to view our campsite from the other side of the Colorado River.
Little boxes waiting on the Calif. side for the snowbirds to arrive from points north.
Parker Dam is an impressive sight. However, the road crossing it is VERY narrow.
Looking down river from the dam you can see the start of some of the 'communities" along the river.
We got the kayak out again to paddle through the Bill Williams Wildlife Refuge.
State Route 95 crosses the refuge and you can see it in the distance.
An egret looking for lunch, but keeping a close eye on us.
Susan is getting good at taking pictures backwards over her head. No turning around in the kayak.
This is another view a little farther into our paddling excursion.
That egret decided that we were invading its space. Heck, we were 40 feet away.
