Maryhill, WA
Our campsite at the spacious Maryhill State Park along the Columbia River.
Near Maryhill SP is an impressive replica of Stonehenge.
With the waning light of the day the Stonehenge structures were interesting studies of light and shadows.
More stonehenge views.
Looking through one of the openings to the Columbia River below.
The Maryhill area has rich, green orchards and vineyards.
This surprising Maryhill Museum of Art is not to be missed if you are in this area.
The grounds sport some whimsical art among green lawns and tall trees.
Inside the museum is a collection featuring artifacts from Queen Marie of Roumainia.
Whole seating areas were brought over from Roumainia.
There are numerous paintings by American artists.
Downstairs the museum had a fascinating collection of chess boards.
This is a very unusual wood and fabric chess set from Indonesia made in 1980.
In another area of the museum was this exhibit of the Native People of North America.
We sampled some of the very good wines at Maryhill Winery.
Susan got a rare glimpse of a Big Horn Sheep on one of her morning walks.
