Sequim, WA
This is our home at Gilgal Oasis RV Park. A little cramped for space, but overall a nice park.
In the distance is Mt. Baker and a portion of the Dungeness Spit. We walked out (11 mi. RT) to the lighthouse.
Here is the Dungeness Spit Lighthouse. People reserve a year in advance to serve as docents here.
The Sequim area is renowned for its production of lavender.
This is the Jardin du Soleil lavender farm. It is one of the more beautifully landscaped farms in the area.
They had some nice Icelandic Poppies in bloom while we were there.
This is lavender being steamed to distill out the lavender essence for almost any product you can imagine.
We biked the Olympic Discovery Trail and this is a converted railroad bridge over the Dungeness River.
Along the trail we were treated to a view of the Olympic Peninsula mtns. with a picturesque farm in the foreground.
We also hiked the Gray Wolf River trail.
Here I am with just a portion of the trees that were downed in last winter's storms.
It was sad to see all of the trees down. This case of tree cannibalism was particularly horrific. ;-)
