Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR
Susan likes to strike a pose with statues and this one is no different.
There are many nice parks in Portland. This is Shemanski Fountain in the park we explored.
This is called Ta Dung and it represents "Universal Peace". Nice thought.
Portland is interesting and I was immediately drawn to this bldg. Here fishy, fishy.
Powell Books is a world reknown Portland landmark.
Is that enough book categories for you. It is VERY easy to get lost here.
The Oregon History Museum is painted in the style to "fool the eye" with a 3D look.
Hmmm.. the ever popular, "Hung Far Low" bldg. in Portland's ChinaTown district.
Looking up the impressive Columbia River Gorge. The Vista House is just visible in the distance.
Here is the Vista House at Crown Point overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.
A beautiful view from the Vista House. It is appropriately named.
Along the gorge is Latourell Falls which is a short hike from the parking area.
Along the hike to the falls we found this interesting fungus and gourmand centipede.
Farther down the road we hiked to Bridal Veil Falls.
The lovely Bridal Veil Falls.
Down the road a little further is Multnomah Falls. They were the most impressive of all we saw.
On our journey back to our campground the gorge offered up more beautiful views.
This is Washington Park's impressive International Rose Test Garden.
There were many stunning rose blossoms in the gardens.
Another beautiful example.
Adjacent to the rose garden is the meticulously maintained Japanese Garden.
Falls and a pond in the Japanese Garden.
Beautiful plants and streams ran through the gardens.
Both the Japanese Gardens and the Rose Garden provided impressive views of downtown Portland.
