Davenport, FL
Home sweet Deer Creek home.  Sadly, by the end of our stay much of the landscaping was frost-bitten.
A view along one of the golf holes in the Deer Creek development.
Sand cranes on alert... "Did you hear someone hit a golf ball?!! Geez, this place is going to give me a heart attack!"
We visited the Bok Tower and gardens one nice day.
Bok Tower. Highest point (292 ft.) in Florida south of the Florida's panhandle.
The gardens were lovely and well maintained.
Lily pads.  Almost looks like you could walk on them, but you can't. Don't ask me how I know.
There were a few swans gracing the waterways.
This is the 1930's built 20-room Mediterranean style mansion called Pinewood Estate at Bok Tower.
Even in the winter there was a lot of color in the gardens.
The grounds of the estate were quite nice.
Another pond at the far end of the estate.
Another attractive area of the gardens.
A wood stork out for a stroll at a Del Webb development just south of Deer Creek.
The Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Garden in Winter Park.
Polasek was born in Moravia and came to the US when he was 22.
Much of Polasek's art reflects the folk tales of his native land.
The 3-acre gardens on Lake Osceola are a joy, each glade offering a new surprise.
The gardens are organically maintained in accordance with Polasek's vision.
Back at Deer Creek the annual Christmas parade of decorated golf carts was about to start their tour.
That is one BIG stuffed animal.
With their "go juice" in hand, Jeanne and Ralph are ready for the parade.
Ralph and Jeanne (and Bonnie in the background) enjoy the Christmas Party.
We happily ring in 2010. Another year of fulltiming and a new home on the way. Life is good!!
