Habitat for Humanity Build, Santa Fe, NM
Bill, Fred, Doug and Richard.  They are fairly clean so it must be early in the day.
Our first morning sign-in.  We were all looking forward to the experience and hoping we could measure up.
Maurice, in the middle, was our ever so patient supervisor.
At the end of our first week our team gathered for dinner.
Susan showing off her porcelain patching skills - Maurice called in a professional.
Work begins on the miles and miles of coyote fence.
HfH folks were so thoughtful - they even provided an on-site masseuse.
Dave shows off his ample skills at the barbecue.  Bill tries to learn something.
Our team gathered for a potluck on the patio at Santa Fe Skies RV.
Doug and Bill try to keep their lives in balance on our last day of the build.
On our last day we gathered at the sandbox and reflected on our experience.
Maurice thanked us for our participation and sent us on our way.
The HfH build was in Oshara Village just east of Santa Fe.
One of the three houses on which we worked.
Two of the homes were basically finishing work - which can be quite time consuming.
The building site.
Harvey and Connie participated at the build for the first week.
Playground beside one of the HfH houses.
One of the perks is the daily 'free lunch' provided by HfH volunteers.
Our team and local volunteers chowing down.  There was never much food left after lunch.
The young fellows are AmericaCorp volunteers.
Sharon and Fred are retired preachers from Austin, TX and do a lot of volunteer work.
Doug and Jill are retired teachers from Santa Rosa, CA.  (Ask Doug about the blind sailor.)
Bill and Susan are from everywhere USA.
Renee and Richard are from Southern California and are now full-time RVers.
Paula and Dave are from Illinois and train service dogs.
Harvey and Connie are real estate agents from Ocala, Florida.
Our happy (exhausted) team at the end of the 1st week.
Guys, you might want to line those postholes up properly.  Only 500 or so left to dig.
Renee strategizes another task.
Jill and Renee supervise Paula's work.
Maurice looks for a property marker to start the fence line.
Oh yeah.  This makes posthole digging much easier.
Hmmm... Let's see knit one, perl two.  Or is that how it goes?
Renee reports, "Look we've put up four posts in only an hour!"
Team Building.
Hydrating.
Refueling.
Relaxing.
Appreciating.
Ah, those enchanting Santa Fe skies.
Bidding farewell to the Santa Fe volunteers.
