Garberville, CA

We stayed in Benbow Resort RV Park.  Nice place with spacious spaces, but a high price.
Benbow Inn opened in July 1926 and has been a popular destination for tourists.
The front porch reflects the some of the uniqueness of this inn.
The south Eel River flows under a bridge near the inn.  Very picturesque.
On a day trip through the Avenue of the Giants we get another nice view of the Eel River.
The giant redwoods along the Avenue of the Giants are well... giants!
It is hard to grasp just how large these trees really are.
This tree looks like it may be developing a mid-life "bulge".
Another large tree, but I think Susan looks very cute here.
This is the Founder's Tree.
Bill shows just how tall this tree is. ;-)  This is called the Giant Tree and for good reason.
Giant Tree is 363 ft. tall and 53 ft. around at the base.
We drove across the Coastal Range along  Mattole Rd. on the way to Honeydew and Petrolia.
As we headed inland towards Ferndale we saw some nice vistas looking back toward the ocean.
This is the Victorian Inn in Ferndale. Easily the most impressive building in town.
The main street of Ferndale.  We had lunch at a nice little Mexican restaurant in town.
