Then and Now
The particulars of our lot and layout.
A view taken in Oct. 2009 looking towards our future driveway and front of the house.
The next few pictures are taken from Oct. 2009 through March 2010 when we arrived at our new home.
Up she goes!
Looking like a home in the making.
The house is done, now on to the landscaping.
The concrete walkway is removed and trenches are dug for the water and electrical.
The courtyard wall is being built here.
The courtyard wall is up and pavers are cut and laid.
Dirt, boulders and plants are added.
After adding a bazillion tons of gravel the landscaping in front is finished.
A view from the street.
Later we added a security screen door to our front entry.
The courtyard and fountain looks pretty good too.
Now on to the backyard.
The house is framed up.
And it is finished.
The seating area and firepit are added.
Seating is in and pavers are added.
The backyard is finshed.  Notice how small the plants are (March 2010) compared to the following pictures.
This picture is taken in March/April 2011 after the plants have grown a bit.
The Palo Verde tree is in full bloom as are many other plants in May 2011.
The den during painting.  The doors were all painted in this room.
Some color is added to the den.
A desk is added.
The final product.
The master bedroom as built.
Color and a mattress.
And a few finishing touches to complete the room.
The guest bedroom.  Needs a little work.
Guest bedroom ready for company.  Nice.
Another view of the guest bedroom.
The basic kitchen, counter and nook area.
Dining area.
Colors added and it looks a lot better.
Well, patio furniture (aka dining room set) doesn't do much for the dining room.
The nook looks good.
The kitchen is cool.
And Wow, the dining area has a definite African flair.
The entertainment area is looking a bit bare.  Except, of course, for Susan... who is not bare.
Color is nice, but not enough.
Now THAT's what I am talking about!
The finished product is just right for us.
This video lets you walk through our home with us.  The lighting isn't great but the price is right.
If you have looked at some of the other picture sections for our Florence home, then a number of these pictures will look familiar.  However, we wanted to organize them to show the transition from bare dirt to our finished home.  There is a YouTube video link at the bottom for those who want to get a walk through perspective of our home.
